I love the turn-out.
You people did so wonderfully and I'm very proud of you all.

Think of the Photography thread as a "silence movie"

Here is where you can all chatter!

I didn't realize "November In Your State" was a contest thread. The thread title suggests we must live in the United States to post in that thread, is that correct?

Nope, you can live anywhere.

Actually, if you read from the beginning, this contest was originally named "Autumn" and now changed to this title. You know what? I really am happy with this title!

Only a couple make their living with their lens. The rest of us are amateurs as well. I know, I am! I personally don't look at these contests as me trying to win (like that would ever happen against the talent pool here on the board) but as a way to try and get the best shot you can right now, and learn from the others. A good look at the ones who win and how they had their camera settings, composition, etc... just a good learning tool for the rest of us out there trying to grow. I am getting more used to my new camera, but still have a LONG way to go in the digital format. Shot 35MM for decades, but only a very short time (about 2 months) with the digital SLR.

The amateurs in this forum are pretty damn good, if I may say so.

No, I feel my 2 photos would have been more appropriate in the Trees thread, not in a contest. And the idle chit chat they caused would not have occured.

Live and learn....that's what it's all about.
