Hi,

I am looking for any recommendations for a family friend in Huntington Beach or Orange county (female, 52 yrs old, unemployed and no insurance, single) for a reputable low or no cost rehab. She has a mother and a brother who are refusing to help.
She was in a bad car accident 9 yrs ago and got addicted to pain pills. She had a temp job as a Marketing Manager and her contact ended 1 month ago. She is not doing well and needs help.

TIA

She is eligible for medi-cal, get her signed up and see what resources they have that might help her. On the street with no insurance her options are NA meetings or methadone clinics.

OP~

There is a therapy that works fairly well for addiction (any addiction,) but it's NOT legal in the United States due to it being "dangerous."

I bring this to you, since many don't know about it, in the USA. It is available in Mexico, as well as many other Countries, but not here. It is very effective in treating addiction, but it's effects last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 months, depending on the addiction and person. Then, you just get another treatment. I don't know of the cost, but it's GOT to be cheaper than living like your friend is, now.

Google: IBOGAINE

The best part is there is very little "withdrawal symptoms."

Good luck in helping your friend.

That is a psychedelic and while it has been shown to be helpful in the US it is a schedule 1 drug and is not approved for addiction treatment.

Very true.

It IS a schedule 1.

It is NOT approved for use in the USA.

It's dangerous as Hell.

But, it works fairly well. (A Hell of a lot better than "just say no.")

I could go into much more detail, on "how it works" but that's for another thread.
