Hi

Me and a friend are planning a 3 month trip (from the uk) around july to oct, we want to try Orange County or around this area, we are going to try and lease a very small apartment maybe near the beach...does anyone know of any areas that are near the beach and not too expensive, and any areas that may be suitable for two 21 year olds? our main concern is keeping the price low and obviously want to avoid the 'dangerous' areas if it all possible and hopefully be near the sea.

Any information/help would be great as planning this trip is taking quite a while and prooving difficult!

Beach and not expensive don't go together. As you get closer to the beach the higher the prices go and they spike once you get to maybe 1 block or less. The only exception to that rule is for the bad areas. Obviously you get what you pay for. Expect to pay 1500 at the very minimum for entry level units (like a studio or 1bedroom place).
