We are trying to decide where to move from cold Iowa.
Would Dallas/suburbs be better than OK city?
Or where would you suggest??
Thanks in advance

OKC would be better. The Dallas area has become too overpopulated and expensive. I personally don't like Texas.

Take a good look at the tax structure: Income, Sales, Local and Property Taxes. Some people say the property taxes in Texas are so high that it pretty well negates the savings on income tax. Anyway, that's one area I'd look at.

Then think about how much you really like hot, humid weather for months at a time. You're escaping a few months of cold winter and trading it for 5 - 6 months of stay inside during the late morning to early evening spring/summer. If you like hot/humid weather, then both OK and TX are a good fit, if not, then somewhere to the west might be better.

We generally enjoyed out time in the OKC area. Early spring and Fall are very nice weather-wise. A little snow and ice in the winter wasn't really an issue. What killed out desire to stay in the area was the heat/humidity mix for the late spring and summer.
