It would be nice to think that half a million people are going descend on Wall Street, and the government will actually sit up and take notice. But you and I both know that no such thing is going to happen. When we wake up on the morning of the 18th to find that all of 125 people participated, we'll know exactly how much "rage" is out there.

Yea they say they want 20,000, and it seems like around 8,000 have signed up, on Facebook at least.

I think there will be betweeen 500-1,000 people which will still be enough to get some media attention.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it turned out that the organizers watched some old footage of protest movements in the 60s. Those things got turnouts! But, as a quick glance at the calendar reveals, it isn't 1967 any more.

That's the truth. People are outraged when they're sitting behind their computers but to get off their couch and miss an episode of Jersey Shore, nah...not happening....LOL.

There's the rage of the hopeful and the rage of the beaten and dispirited. I think most of the country falls into the latter category.

Raging against Wall Street is as pointless as a peasant telling Genghis Khan to back off.

It is bad and gonna get worse and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

my question is why do this on a saturday? wouldn't the best day for a wall street protest be on a weekday when people actually are working on Wall Street?

Wall ST actually benefits NYC. Tone down Wall ST and go back to the NYC of the 80's.

NYC's economy is not diverse in any sense. Gov't jobs, Wall ST jobs, wall st derivative jobs, and gov't funded derivative jobs make up most of the economy.

The idea is to camp out Tahrir Square style, so hypothetically this will last long enough to disrupt Wall St.
