This is a Democrat controlled state and has been for almost 90 years. Literally, since 1930, the Republicans have controlled both houses of the legislature and the governorship for exactly zero years. They have held two out of three at the same time for ~10 years. Democrats on the other hand have controlled all three for more than half that time.
All the above have lead us where? Bottom of every national ranking for anything of meaning. Yeah, We need to do something different.
Really? It appears they have lived in New Mexico about 22 years... After graduating from Washington State University in 1996 and, after a stint working at a television station in Colorado, he moved to New Mexico in 1998 to work for a local station in Albuquerque. He became a certified meteorologist and went on to become the Chief Meteorologist for Albuquerque’s CBS-affiliated news station.
He also has two homes in NM, one in ABQ and one in Angel Fire (which is, I think, the highest house in the state at over 10,000 feet). His mother has also lived in Angel Fire for quite some time and, if I recall correctly, was once mayor there.

Take it up with him and tell him he's wrong for saying himself in his campaign announcement that he's lived in New Mexico "for almost 20 years"

His wife is the PR manager for Angel Fire resort. They built their house there as part of a reality television show. Those two facts don't strike me as warm and fuzzy, but more like cold, calculated and ambitious.
I can't find anything about his mom and Angel Fire online.
All I did find was this piece which documents and names the mayors of Angel Fire for about the same timeframe as Mark Ronchetti has had anything to do with this state:

This individual is running for US Senate, not NM Legislature or Governor. Our last Republican US Senator was Pete Domenici. Did he boost our ranking?
I'm just happy this "weather man" and his fake grin are off the air. No political experience but plenty of experience as a stuffed shirt.
Never mind, through some googling I found info about his mom.
Her name is Joan Ronchetti and she now lives in Colorado Springs. She did live in Angel Fire for a time in about 2010 and served as secretary of the Association of Angel Fire Property Owners, Inc. I cannot find anywhere that she was ever mayor there. I've come across other names of mayors of Angel Fire during that time, none of which are her or female. I believe one of Mark Ronchetti's brothers lives in Colorado, so I'm guessing their mother, who is now 80 years old, lives near him.
This is hardly indicative of strong ties to New Mexico and instead shows stronger family ties to Colorado. Somebody even criticized Mark Ronchetti yesterday on his Twitter for spending so much time and money at Colorado ski resorts instead of others in New Mexico besides Angel Fire, which again, his wife has an interest in promoting.
Politics aside, is there anything this guy brings to the table besides a TV persona, a talent for self-promotion, and a bunch of hot air? You'd think the NM GOP would be better served by someone whose political ideas are shaped by actual substance and experience...
He might pick off a few votes in the Albuquerque metro area, but after Rich's other post of showing the 5 declared candidates, it seems as though Mick Rich has the most organized campaign, and my money would be on him to win the primary.
