Is anyone familure with these townhomes that can give me any advice on whether they think it would or wouldn’t be a good idea to buy here? I rent around the corner at Rustic Ridge and my payments of the townhouse wouldn’t be much more then my rent with the $200,000 I could put down on this purchase.

This is what I have so far and any advice would be appreciated.

Townhouse = $400,000
Down payment = $200,000
Taxes & Maintenance fee = $12,000 yr
Dover address but in Rockaway twp & schools (across from rockaway mall)

Default I liked it there

I lived in Townsquare Village for 13 years and liked it very much. The townhomes are quite large - like a house, really. It is rare to find them with 2 car garages also. I moved into a single family home because I had to relocate and do not like it as much as Townsquare Village. Only downside is the traffic in that area now, but since you already live nearby that shouldn't be much of an issue for you. Like everywhere else in NJ, property taxes might be an issue. They never seem to go down. Good luck.

If I'm not mistaken, the owner is responsible for maintaining the exterior for the unit in that development.

The $400,000 price tag seems kind of high for a townhouse. I have friends in Rockaway that paid less than that for a single family home.

$400,000 would be for the higher end bigger units. They range between 300 - 400.

My advice would be to get into a couple of them and see what you think of the floor plans. If you want a townhouse they might be the way to go. Obviously you know the area. There is also Stoneview about 1/2 mile away. The best thing is get inside and check them out.
