I recently moved to central Jersey and need to relocate again while staying near Flemington. I racked up a lot of debt the past 2 years and now I need a chance to catch up so I’m looking for something very affordable. Ideally I’ll find a 1000-square-foot space for around $1200, or up to $1500 with utilities. Staring artist prices.

I run a home-based business which is my livelihood, and I use the entire space for it, including the kitchen, living room etc… so sharing isn’t an option.

Any suggestions for towns or neighborhoods within a 50-minute drive from Flemington would be helpful.

I’m a single woman but somewhat street smart coming from a lifetime in NYC and not the wealthy parts of the city, so it doesn’t have to be the most beautiful neighborhood, but I won’t live in an area that has bad vibes all over the place either.

Another idea was to rent a larger space maybe a house, and then sublet out a bedroom or 2. The problem is I need the kitchen for my business, so I wouldn’t want other people using it. I wonder if anyone would rent a room without use of the kitchen…?

Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

Are you cooking crack or meth?

Either way, maybe check out Trenton.

Tough sell renting out a room in a house without kitchen privileges.

Via your taxes, Section 8 pays $1,800 a month for 1 bedroom to landlords now for crackhead apartments which should be the new floor pricing.

You're going to have to find roomates.

My first thought seems to be somewhere along the Millstone River and or adjacent canal

I can't get over the nasty/snarky remarks given there are desirable options.

OP, check out the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area across the state line in PA. There are umpteen desirable one bedroom apartment options with full kitchens under $1300 a month.

Although not as numerous the Lansdale-Hatfield PA area has some similar options and the close proximity to Philadelphia might be a perk.

If you want to live in some place affordable and get rid of debt, why would you move to NJ?
