I finally felt... something... yesterday, relating to the quake. At precisely 6PM, I felt an aftershock that lasted for a few seconds. The sensation was similar to hearing/feeling an 18-wheeler going past on a bad road.

How did they record how strong it was in 1783. I'm curious as to the "technology" they would have used?

Apparently there were methods going back to BC times. But of course, the accuracy compared to our current scares is questionable.

I was in Atlantic City at the time and felt nothing. Strange thing is that my sister felt it in Cape May though.
