What I love about this TV movie is the sequences with Pilate, played by Rod Steiger. Anyone agree? Scene in link below.

This was a TV movie but is often described as a series or miniseries. It is over 6 hours but was first shown in two big parts in the US. The cast is very impressive, even Laurence Olivier and Ernest Borgnine. Also Ian Holm who was later in Alien and Lord of the Rings.

I disliked Scorsese's film about Christ and not because of the controversial aspects. The whole film was cold and mechanical. Also not crazy about Mel Gibson's film. It was just there.

The casting was great. I liked the scenes with Anne Bancroft a lot. It was a well done series and is streaming on Tubi
and may also be on Youtube.

Robert Powell played Jesus - a relatively unknown actor - He did a good job.
