I'm a big Patrick Swayze fan and just saw where they were remaking Roadhouse so had to take a peak at the trailer. Lots of changes for sure and while I think Jake Gyllenhaal holds his own - just not the same.

It’s a poor choice to try to remake an original that was great I won’t be seeing this one. RIP Patrick Swayze. He’s a legend and no one can fill his shoes.

Another pointless remake.* The original film remains popular and holds up.

*See: Point Break's remake, which came and went faster than That '80s Show.

I saw a trailer for this yesterday...it looks awful. Jake is definitely ripped though.

Yeah, but that's all he is these days. Sorry to get off-topic but remember when he was known for compelling performances in thought-provoking films? The last decent movie that he was in was Nocturnal Animals in 2016.

He's now that actor who, when I hear he's in a movie, I don't want to see that movie because I know it won't be good.

The original co-starred Sam Elliott, the re-make has Conor McGregor. No, just no.

My prediction is that the remake isn't pointless but an opportunity to embellish on the homoerotic subtheme.
