Can anyone tell me of the best places for a family of three to live?? I have a 4 year old...

We're looking for an established neighborhood (trees please after living the last 8 years with none!), nice sized lots, with a good school system...not too far out of twon (Cheat Lake would be too far)...

I went to WVU in the 90's but what I liked as a student has changed since I became a parent!! lol

What does everyone think of South Park? I always thought it was mostly student living? How about Killarny Drive? Looks like there are a couple of house for sale - are people leaving for a reason???

Thanks so much for your help!
Angie

Angie,

You might want to read the topic Maybe moving to WV soon (mixed race couple), which you'll find about 10 or 15 topics down the list. This discussion went into quite a bit of detail about neighborhoods, housing, schools, jobs, commuting times, etc., in the Morgantown area.

And since you were at WVU in the 90s, you know there won't be any problem seeing trees!

Regards,

Snorpus

Thank heaven! We live in Columbus, Ohio right now (a new subdivision) and not only are the NO HILLS, there are no trees taller than our house.

Do you want to rent or to buy a place? I live here in Morgantown and have for several years. So maybe I can help if you would like. Just let me know.

Kilarney Drive is in a really nice location. VERY close to 705. A lot of professors I know live in that area. Really, anywhere in Suncrest would be a great place to raise a kid...

I agree that Suncrest would be nice for a family. Check the Sunday Dominion Post as they always have the best real estate listings. You can do it online, and the classifieds are free.

Yeah, if you don't want to be near anything other than a Walmart...

She did say family of three...and Walmart can get a person by...I could live in Thistledown and school the kids at the new catholic school on the other side of the road from that Walmart...a no brainer, and out of the horrible Morgantown city traffic.

see you are up late too...

It's only a matter of time before they are building more stuff there too.
