Nothing fancy, just some shots from a weekend daytrip.
North of Kansas City, at Watkin's Mill State Park...
Not sure why the camera dates read that way, oh well.

The Table Rock Dam letting water out of 5 of the 10 locks and into Lake Taneycomo:

The water is about 5 feet from spilling over the top of the dam:

Ah yes, the reservoirs in SW Missouri are hard at work after the heavy rains in the surrounding region. This looks to be an active spring in terms of storms according to a meteorologist in the KC metro area.

Those pictures are sumthing, and I hope everyone is ok and life gets back to normal soon.

That said they are the best advertisement for NOT building in flood plains. We have the same thing here....Chesapeake bay came up 9-10 ft and flooded out large portions of Maryland. Some counties have more than 40-50 percent of their land only 1-2 feet above sea level. One day us humans will learn I hope.

Notice in the 7th picture down there is a court there that looks like houses are about to be built...hope they change those plans.

Default Hmmmm...

Well, it may be a small heron, or an egret. Their colors change as they mature. Here's a link that may help you find exactly which one it is.
