Hello, I got DQ'd at the MEPS station in Seattle washington for having a bicuspid aortic valve with absence of stenosis or reguritation and I got a letter from my cardiologist saying everything is good with my heart and a letter from my doctor saying that my heart is in good condition and I even got an EKG and my recruiter sent it to MEPS and my doctor told me my EKG was normal and they still DQ'd me. My Recruiter never said anything about a wavier so should I try and get one or is there anything I can do?
The waiver comes from the service, it can be a engthy process. It would go through your recruiter though and be granted by the service. Naval Bureau of Medicine for the Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. Walter Reed/Surgeon General for the Army, I believe. Which is now the same building/place in Bethesda since they closed down the old Walter Reed. Not sure about the USAF.
