It's been a few years, but I know the area is sedate and there is plenty of fishing & boating on those nearby lakes - Randall Lake, Marble Lake, etal. As retired military, you probably don't have an employment problem either. That area has plenty of other recreation, including hunting, fishing, hiking, in the state game areas. Even nearby Indiana has its share. Day trips to Lake Michigan and quaint little towns like Three Oaks are doable.

Can't speak to shopping, housing, and other quality of life however. Good luck.

Coldwater economy is awful. No jobs. School system is just mediocre. Crime and Drug rate is on the rise. Would suggest Marshall for nice school system, medical system and hometown feel.

On a positive note: There are a lot of lakes in the Coldwater area which is great during summer, just a short drive from town and some right outside of.

Hi Angie. Been meaning to reach out to someone in Coldwater to promote a charity road trip project I'm working on.

www.route12Roll.com

I believe Coldwater is about the halfway point of the Roll along 12.

Please share with anyone you might know, hopefully the Roll can bring more visitors and $$$ to Coldwater
