Or how about drink less caffeinated coffee? People drink coffee for the caffeine anyways, so what sense does to drink decaf? They are addicted to the caffeine.

Good point-- depressed people probably drink more coffee because it makes them feel less depressed...Adderall, a common drug used to treat depression, is an adrenergic, ie- it simulates adrenalin....Caffeine senstizes us to our own adrenalin, ie- the effect is equivalent to having more adrenalin in our systems...The problem is, you "get used to" caffeine by making less adrenalin, so when you stop drinking coffee, with lower adrenalin levels, you feel depressed....A chicken & egg problem.

That’s funny because I once dated someone who wanted me to stop drinking coffee. Idk if I’m addicted but if I am, I’m ok with that and they should have been too but I’m glad they showed their control card early.

You did the right thing. Someone like that, you give them an inch and they'll take a mile. The next thing you know, they'll start demanding that people stop taking their cocaine, heroin, and Snickers bars.

this describes my ex-inlaws. i knew they could not sit still, but it wasn't until they visited us for the first time and stayed in our house, that i realized how bad it was. I counted how many cups of coffee they drank in a day and it was between 11 and 14 mugs per day for each of them. that does not include the ones they drank in the middle of the night because i was asleep then. i never saw them drink water or juice or tea at all. just coffee and booze.

it was scary. i am so glad i left that marriage and those people.
