You won't really see much from the M25, except for the Dartford Crossing and this I found from J29 of the M25:

I lived in Richmond for a while and the views of the skyline from Richmond Park are quite spectacular, especially at night. Richmond is well inside the M25 belt though, but you cannot go to London without checking out Richmond Park. It's quite possibly the most beautiful urban park in the world.

It depends on how clear the weather is and how good your eyesight is!! London is quite a flat city so it doesnt have the striking skylines of Hong Kong, New York or Chicago.

I took this photo back in January, from 27 miles away in Camberley (a town in the commuter belt).

This one was taken by a forumer at SSC, from Epsom, which about 15-20 miles from the centre.

Nice Pic'. I used to live in Gravesend and you could see the skyline very clearly from there which must be a good 20miles or so from Canary Warf.

At night you can see the lights and shapes of London from Allhallows on the estuary and that's about 30-35 miles away.

Never thought of taking any pic's though, may have to do that next time i'm there.

One of my favorite views of London was from Alexandra Palace, especially on November 5th. You have a great view of Canary Wharf and watching the fireworks from up there was awesome!!

Maybe that's because much of London consists of buildings that are not modern and high.
