I know a guy who can take care of that for you.

Default Signed a lease extension

Lots of haggling. LL got a little "mean girl" with me, with a dash of "Lady of the Manor". I was surprised at her taking it personally. I could have called her a borderline slumlord, with the lack of maintenance, other problems we've had here (the asbestos, the fire, etc.) but I always try to be polite and business-like

The increase was reduced by 25%. I don't regard that as much of a win, but that's me.

Rent expected to drop in several US cities as markets near ‘oversupply’: real estate report
by Alix Martichoux - 12/17/23

Quote:
Of the 100 cities analyzed in Zumper’s Annual Rent Report, which was released this week, 55 have seen rent prices drop since last year. An additional 17 are flat year-over-year.

The report predicts rent prices will keep “softening,” at least through the first half of 2024.
Quote:
Outside the Sun Belt, Denver, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City have all been attracting new residents for years. Now, after lots of new development, Zumper says the rental markets may be flooded with more empty housing units than would-be renters.

Why would anyone watch any random musing on YouTube? There is a wealth of reliable actual data available for anyone interested in the topic, and YouTube is not one of the sources.

That guy has been calling for a massive housing crash for years and gets thousands of comments saying yeah man, you are right everything should not be expensive. Not really sure how he makes money from his call of a crash other than YouTube checks but he figured out a way to make money is give people a place to vent. His calls for a crash aren't exactly working out so far but maybe when one happens in 20 years he will say he was right all along.

So where did all the people who were renting those units go?

I'm sure there's plenty of landlords around refusing to budge on the rent. There is a house in my neighborhood that has been listed for rent 72 days now. 5 bedrooms/4 bath with a pool 4,048 sqft for $3,950. I think for that rate its better for a group of friends looking to share the space and expenses vs. a family. How many families can afford that?

I'm not sure which is worse:
  • That some people watch Youtube for information
  • That some people who watch Youtube for information vote
  • That some people who watch Youtube for information reproduce
