I like the nice stone building in Vego County.. Terre Haute. City hall? State building? It is on Rt 41.

Most of the state is cornfields and/or flat windfalls. Not all. But a decent amount. Also forest. But it is beautiful.

I used to live there. Thought about going back.

It is beholden to major corporations.

I prefer Indiana, vanilla pudding, 3.2 beer and margarine.

It is absolutely fantastic in the Fall, one of the only true nice seasons in the area. Great color usually from the maple, poplar, oak, hickory, etc.

I remember it as being a deep shade of green, kinda hilly and woodsy - south of Winchester, south and east of Muncie, east of New Castle, and north of Richmond. It makes kind of an arc. The highest point in Indiana is in that region. That section of East Central Indiana has some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Indiana outside of Southern Indiana. North and west of Muncie, it's much flatter and fewer trees.

If you mean the steel mills....they are still there. However, they are cleaner than they have ever been. There have sadly though, been a few chemical spills over the last ten years, very small though.

The mills are environmentally friendly actually. Their location at the Southern tip of the lakes allows the Iron Ore from Minnesota to float by barge into the heart of the nation. If all that ore had to be trucked it would be incredibly polluting.

And it's kind of ironic. The mills were what lead to the modern ecological movement...the Save the Dunes movement..which led to the preservation of both the state and national parks. If the mills hadn't been there...the entire stretch would likely have become high-end residential...like Ogden Dunes/Beverly Shores/Michigan City

As long as you think it's the most beautiful state, that's all that matters. Whether it is or not, is another matter.

I will agree with the post that the steel mills by the dunes have cleaned up a bit. I remember as a kid going to Chicago and that stretch of I-90 by the steel mills always smelled horrible. I don't really notice that smell anymore or at least I haven't the last few times I've gone by there when I think back on it.
