Wow. I can't believe that people really are this ignorant.

Why do people wish to immigrate to the US?

Been watching the real news lately? See what is going on in Gaza, for example? That is an easy visual for everyone because you can see what is happening in virtually real time. Although relatively few Palestinians actually immigrate to the US.

An oppressive regime, Hamas, takes EVERYTHING the people have: Food, water, health care. educati0on...all of it...and uses it for their own purposes (kill Jews). Then they put the citizens in front of the bullets coming in from Israel.

Well, think Haiti, Cuba, Ecudor, Argentina, Mexico, et al... places run by dictators or drug lords or gangs. Everything the people have, or had, is confiscated. The people are randomly shot just for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Life has NO value in these regimes.

So, people flee.

America has a long-established immigration policy. Our fathers/grandfathers/great grandfathers-- all of them, came to America from somewhere else. We are damned glad they did!

With unemployment so low in America, there are plenty of jobs (which the resident Americans really don't care to take--think hotels, food places, construction, landscaping--things where the work is hard and the pay is low) so immigrants are welcome here to keep our economy strong.

Washington had a chance to pass a refreshed immigration bill which would likely have improved the processing time for immigrants, but the magats and the bashful republicans in the house turned it down. That's how little they care about the real issues associated with immigration. Basically, they make it a "political" hot potato, but in the end they don't really give a hoot about the core issue.

The numbers are small; the money we spend is relatively low...likely a few billions for everything...and the contribution made by immigrants is, just like OUR families made, huge.

It's time to move on from the noisy headlines and get real about what really happens at our borders. Other than a lot of noise, and yes we could do better, immigration is hardly something we need to have as a front burner issue. It just isn't all that important given our other problems which are huge in scope and will command trillions in dollars and bi-partisan support if we are going to survive past this century.

Move on. Get away from the talking heads. Be real: what specifically happened to YOU today that was evil and directly...as in a direct contact with an immigrant...caused you to have a bad day?

More than likely, nothing.

The illegal invaders are migrating here because American taxpayers will be footing the bill for their everyday needs. Without them ever having to put a dime into the system. Pretty good deal huh?

What part of we have immigration laws and quotas for good reasons, don't you get? Most asylum seekers are coming here for economic reasons not because they are fleeing for their lives.

Why no concern about their impact on our own citizens in so many ways? We don't have a shortage of American workers for "necessary" jobs. The only reason that employers hire illegal aliens is to increase their profits while they pass the enormous social costs of their illegal workers on to we the taxpayer. Are you unaware of the number for governors and mayors that are complaining about the enormous costs they have had to endure due to these "migrants" including cutting services to their own citizens?

Are you blurring the lines between lawful immigrants and illegal aliens and bogus asylum seekers? It certainly seems so! This forum is about illegal immigration not legal immigration. If you want to sing the praises about legal immigrants then there is another forum for that. Most of us don't have a problem with legal immigration it's illegal immigration that is objectionable.

Our border crisis is due to illegal immigration and mostly bogus asylum seekers not regular legal immigration.

The Senate bill that you are praising was a piece of garbage compared to the House border bill. The former would have just processed more "migrants" into our country while we still have a huge backlog and would do little to nothing to secure our border. Why did the Democrats refuse to sign the House bill which was a much better bill? No funds for the Ukraine were tied to that one either.

Illegal aliens cost us over $150 billion a year above and beyond and taxes they pay into the system.

Once again, it seems you have wandered into the wrong forum either that or you are blurring the lines between legal and illegal.

Well, you certainly do have the left's pro-illegal talking points down.

Just imagine, if instead of fleeing these millions of people would march as one on their corrupt government officials and on the gangs to route them out, what a major difference they could make in their own countries. Perhaps so much of a difference that they wouldn't want or feel the need to flee.

Is doing that risky? Yep, it sure is. But then, it's also risky in trying to come here illegally... record numbers of deaths, injuries, people (mainly children) being stolen by the cartels and turned into slaves, etc.

We aren't doing them any favors by keeping them from trying to turn their own countries around.

Yah, I know. But it seems a lot of other people don't. To hear them, you'd think illegals just started dropping in yesterday, thanks to only Biden. I mean, c'mon people. At least spread the blame around a little.

When did MX become a communist country?
The illegals aren't just coming from Mexico. They're coming from a lot of different countries that are under dictatorship. And I'm sorry I didn't draw a picture here, so in case some of you guys didn't know, people from communist East Germany and other communist countries with dictatorships also tried coming over the walls like the South Americans. And guess what? The West Germans and West Berliners complained about them "invading" their countries, too.

I never said Mexico was communist. What I meant is we could have had a nice, thoughtful conversation here comparing the two situations.

Oh, and by the way, it's the Chinese who are now one of the biggest groups that are trying to get into the US via the Mexican border. Gotta keep up with the news, you guys.

Except no one is saying that they just started coming here under Biden*. What they are saying is that they are coming here, and staying here, in record numbers because of Biden*, which it seems a lot of Biden* supporters refuse to acknowledge.

Shrug, you were the one that who had made it seem like they all come from communist countries, so I just wondered why you thought MX was communist.

Of course they come from all different countries, they always have come from many different countries. Even those in DACA had come from all over the world. You seem to not know this.

If so, it's still against the law to hire illegal aliens. Maine is a very cold state so that's not a typical example.

Biden set a new record for illegal entry no one said that illegal immigration itself started under him. Most illegals are still coming from Latino countries in spite of the fact that there has been an increase in Chinese illegal aliens. Gotta keep up with the news, guy.

This seems to me to be basically a fake poll, and it would have been preferable of you just came out and made whatever point you have in mind.

For starters, there are very few genuinely communist countries today, and I'm guessing you won't see many people from, for instance, Laos, arriving here. Second, you ask why no one is discussing it, but you don't make any effort to discuss it yourself. Third, I doubt you - or most of us - have a true handle on the global situation.
