Republicans keep screaming at the top of their lungs "the border is open! The border is open!" If you don't want all these immigrants streaming in you don't go on TV all day every day with that message. I really think it's advertising and I don't appreciate it. Our media does reach other parts of the world directly and indirectly. Everyone needs to be repeating the message "do not come here." I have heard that message from the Biden administration but way too faintly. In the past 3 years I never hear republicans say it. They're always advertising the open border.
I spent the last 3 summers processing the migrants at the SWB border.
Most migrants decided to take the expensive and costly trip to America because they know someone in their neighbor/city/village got through the border and told them how easy to get through
During the Obama administration, the Secretary of State did many tours of South American countries giving speeches urging families to send their minor children to America. At the time, there were many news articles about the speeches. She made many promises about how America would take care of those children. Families DO NOT just blindly send their minor children on a 1,000-mile hike to a distant country without some urging and reassurance.
This was all motivated by Hillary.

Thanks. The "Title 42" has been rescinded as part of the cancellation of the Covid emergency. I know that I opposed the emergency but something, i.e. the previous "remain in Mexico" policy should have been put back in place.

Many of these unaccompanied minors were deserted in their homelands by their parents who came to our country illegally. Now these kids are trying to join their parents that deserted them. Some have sent their kids here with child trafficters and the parents plan to join them later. Either way it's despicable parenting and shows no respect for our laws or our own families.
It is all word of mouth. Every Legal Immigrant has a "Cousin" and every Illegal one has a family.
Who can really blame the "migrants"? If the President throws down the welcome mat and opens the gates then why not move? America is still the land of opportunity no matter how hard the Left trashes it as a Racist country blah blah blah..

Part of the job was to explain to new mothers, en español, the various free services available to them, such as WIC, SNAP, etc. They would tell me that their cousin, friend, etc. had already informed them of all the “free services”. Of course, they had just had their newborn baby in a hospital in the USA, for free. This was in SoCal, 25+ years ago.

Joe Biden can physically go to Central America or China or Africa and tells the world that our border is closed and whoever tries to illegally enter will be arrested, but if he keeps admitting and paroling migrants into the US by ten of thousands each month, then whatever Joe said is useless. The paroled migrants would just tell their friends and relatives back in their homeland to come over.
I want to know how largely ignorant and sometimes illiterate migrants decide spontaneously and in large numbers to take the arduous trip to the U.S. I seriously think some news person who speaks Spanish should interview some of the migrants and report on exactly what the migrants were promised and who made the promises. Too bad if it has to be conservative media.
I would not expect people, unless induced, to be able to come in the hundreds of thousands from isolated rural villages.

Their own governments tell them, because they want to get rid of them. What an easy way to dump your excess and unproductive populace off on someone else. Just herd them in a direction away from your nation and toward the USA or Europe.

i think it does make sense when those corrupted governments in some third world banana republic to send their young working age males to the USA for 2 reasons
1) they would send remittance back home
2) nobody to fight the corrupted government
