I'm updating all the fixtures in my bathroom. The new accessories are same design family as my sink faucet (Moen Genta). The overall them is more modern; old theme was traditional. New showerhead is a Moen Verso dual showerhead, new valve trim is Delta Modern, and the new tub spout is the Delta with the pull-down diverter.

Same here. I finally got the hole where the old holder fell out of the plaster wall fixed and I'm not going to mess up the new plaster with a wall fixture. Besides, the free-standing holder holds more rolls. Winner!

You must live in my head. I will say that I did spend a little time thinking about essentially this very topic when we redid our guest bath. The fixture "pattern" for lack of better word only came with a TP holder that looks like a squished letter C. There is a slight upward continuation of the c on the open end and I was not convinced that it would not fly off with a pull. I asked the plumbing place near me and he said not unless you pull up and out. He was right - it never has flown off and it is over 2 years.

Since this thread was not accompanied by a photo, I searched and found samples of a pivoting arm toilet paper holder.

I also found something else not mentioned, that some people might want, depending upon where their toilet paper holder is mounted. It's an accordion-arm TP holder:

First world problems, indeed.

The toilet paper roll holder has a pivoting arm. This seems to be a very convenient feature where I don't have to remove the entire rod.

I was wondering, what are your thoughts on such a design? Do you think they are convenient?
My thoughts? None. There are much more interesting things to think about.
Whatever works for you. No need to conduct another market research.

Never mind a pivoting toilet paper holder...I've watched Youtube videos of tiny Tokyo apartments and some of them have bathrooms so small that the toilet pivots out from under the sink when you need to use it. I would actually like that, to save space in the bathroom and not have to look at a toilet all the time. Actual toilet usage is probably less than 10% of all the time spent in the bathroom.

When I remodeled our bathrooms I went back with this design. So much more convenient. Wonderful design for reloading the TP roll.

I like innovative ideas even with something as simple as a roll holder. Just a more common sense idea as tiny an idea as it is.

Someone mentioned loading the plunger handle with extra rolls but we're talking about a single shot here not a repeater.

We have a cat who is an artist who works in paper. What is the point of using a TP roll dispenser?
