I just had a miscarriage when pregnant 30 days. i have bleed for 6 days and still have bleeding now. i asked doctor to do a vagina ultrasounds to check there is anything left in my womb. but doctor said it is normal and need to wait for another 2 weeks to do blood test. I would like to do ultrasound even my bleeding is stopped next week since I want to make sure that the miscarriage completely flowed out and nothing remains in my uterine. Will USA doctor agree to do it? how is the normal process after miscarriage in US?
I agree with the above poster who said that a blood test a few days after the miscarriage then every several days until the HCG levels go down is normal. If you have abnormal bleeding, they might do an ultrasound... but six days is not abnormal.
I am sorry for your loss as well. I have had 3 miscarriages and know how emotionally painful they are. It is not uncommon at all to bleed for a few weeks, maybe even more. With my second miscarriage I bled for months before I finally stopped. I only had one ultrasound and that was at the very beginning of one of my miscarriages.
I had U/S after both of my miscarriages. I think the reason was because I had not seen any doctors regarding the pregnancies. Both were around 6 weeks. I would tell the doctor that you would feel better if they do it. If he/she does not do it for you then I would look for a different doctor for future pregnancies.
Demand the ultrasound. I had two miscarriages in 14 months. The first was at 9 weeks, the second at 12. The first miscarry, we found out at the prenatal appoint. during the ultrasound. The doctor told us to go home and wait for nature to take its course. Two months later, I was still bleeding. I called the doctor office and got his fill in (he was on vacation). The fill in told me not to worry and it was normal to bleed this long. Two weeks after that, I was still bleeding, only excessively now and cramps that dropped me to my knees. I bled so bad that I drenched my jeans all the way to my feet. My husband took me to the doctors office and demanded I be seen. A tiny piece of the placenta had attached itself to my cervix causing me to hemmorage. They didn't even have time to get me to the hospital as I was bleeding off the table onto the floor. The doctor removed the piece of placenta right there. Then he had the nerve to tell us that it would be best to wait an ungodly amount of time before trying to get pregnant again. We are very blessed to have been able to bring two healthy babies into the world after that. Go get the ultrasound. If they won't do it, go to the emergency room. Don't wait!
