I started the same topic in P&OC, it's fits well there too, as a 'controversy' item, and if that Flu really does go pandemic, it sure is going to be huge controversy.
The World Health Organization is very concerned right now. Mexico is closing museums and schools. The flu has so far killed 61 healthy young people — not babies or old folks — so it appears deadly.
All it take is one person flying out of Mexico on an airplane to somewhere in the U.S.

Read the article. Apparently one of the tell tale signs of a pandemic is that this swine flu is killing healthy people first. That's what happened when 50 million people died in 1918 and 1919. Usually the flu kills the young and elderly.

My son works at a restaurant frequented by affluent people who travel more than the rest of society. My husband travels for a living. Everyone I work with travels. As a matter of fact, all of my coworkers are traveling next week.
I want start wearing a mask now but I'll look like a hypocondriac since I live in Pittsburgh.
Ugh, scary stuff esp after all the threats in avian flu.
