From the article:

"Sorry vegetarians, we're afraid we've got some news that you're probably not going to like ...

Plants emit sounds akin to 'screams' when they're distressed, according to a new study."

The study was published in Cell, a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Link to this study is in the article.

Well, if you’re really concerned about plant’s screaming you should really go vegan. The reason being is that if you’re eating meat the animals you’re eating are fed copious amounts of plants so you can eat less plants by eating only plants.

Not buying it. Plants lack a brain. They can't feel. They can't scream.

I don't believe for a second that blades of grass scream to each other when I mow the lawn.

More junk science. What a waste of grant money - like most grant money.

Sorry but vegans have to eat even more plants than the animals because humans can't digest & benefit from plant nutrients as efficiently as herbivorous animals can (bioavailability).

See the reference articles in the previous thread nored above. Plants definitely communicate & interact in response to noxious factors in the vicinity of the colony.

I wonder what the meat industry paid to circulate that?
