Thank you for the tip of using dill!

I only want it in the theatre where I can see and hear others eating it and of course smell it, but I invariably get one of the shucks (?) stuck in either my throat or gum, which inevitably ruins my viewing experience...

But if I were a regular eater of it, I would avail myself of the easy microwave type with the delicious EXTRA salt and butter! We've all gotta go sometime.

OK, by now everyone has seen that I know a lot about popcorn, and have eaten a lot of it. I'm not going to take the bait here. I'll just say - Don't believe everything you read about popcorn, dairy products (butter particularly), or eggs. There is BIG money involved.

I like popcorn with chili powder and cayenne on it. No butter or sugar for me, thanks anyway.

I'll have Costco microwave popcorn once in a while when I am really hungry for a snack. They seem to have less salt and butter flavoring than the big boxes from Walmart or Orville Redenbacher.

More often though I'll have 5-6 of the Cashew Clusters, made with Almonds and Pumpkin seeds. They have low fat, no cholesterol, only 5g sugar, 11g carbs. They are very tasty.

Y'all with your healthy snacks... I love a big bag of Cheeto's or Doritos much better than popcorn!

Since the other popcorn thread I realized I hadn't had popcorn in a while and that I missed it. I got a jar of kernels and a bag of nutritional yeast and have made it about three times since then. So good, and while hardly health food much better than chips or similar things that satisfy that crunch need. I just add the yeast for seasoning, no salt or butter, but we may splurge and have a batch with those naughty additions this weekend.

I must love it more, probably 4-5 times a week. It's the only evening snack I allow myself. Popped on stove top with oil, seasoned with salt/spices/nutritional yeast. Never tried the microwave popcorn. One look at the list of ingredients of the chemical sludge tells me it can't be good for you.

Popcorn used to generally be healthy until the advent of GMO corn. It is not that GMO is inherently bad, but they have made corn resistant to Round Up weed killer. The weeds die, the corn grows, and the corn suck up all that glyphosate from Round Up. Popcorn today is as full of glyphosate from Round UP as any other corn product is. Consume enough glyphosate and you get cancer, diabetes, liver inflammation, neuroinflamtion, cardiovascular disease...

I would limit all corn consumption these days unless it is certified organic with no Round Up used.
