Several years ago I had the most awful abdominal pain hit me rather suddenly while I was playing a round of golf with my friends. Almost had to be carried to my car and even then had my friend drive me to the ER. I swore it was gonna be appendicitis or maybe even some weird intestinal injury.
Well, I'll spare the details of how the MD came to this diagnosis, but it was acute gastritis, nothing more. Some GasX and I was on my way. But my fart count was into the triple digits until i felt better.
When my bad IBS acts up nothing really works. It can go on for weeks with some days mixed in where I’m fine. I have hyoscyamine but that’s only useful for dumping attacks where severe cramping comes followed by diarrhea. If I take it within 10-15 minutes I normally can stop the attack. It’s not at all useful for bloating or gas episodes which don’t cause diarrhea because it normalizes and slows the intestines and actually makes things worse.
Well, there's always taking a dog or a little kid with you everywhere you go, so you can blame those deadly f@rts on them!
My father (the gastric maestro described in an earlier post) always sat at the head of our family dining table. At that time, we had two Scottish terriers. The male MacDougal always arranged to lie sprawled on his back right next to or underneath my father's chair during dinner. No one else received that particular honor. He'd relax and let fly. My dad would make exaggerated sniffing noises, lean over and complain. The dog would wriggle and wag while giving him a sheepish grin. This little ritual was repeated pretty much every evening. Unlike my father's, MacDougal's farts were of the silent but deadly variety. Between the two of them they covered all the bases.

Farting in the elevator when least expected and there are people in there with me
For bad gas and farting I drink a about a teaspoon mixed with water then warm it a little and drink it slowly.
I drink this either early in the morning and make sure I am home at least 4 to 5 hours later. Sometimes it takes up to 6 hours to let the damn break open which is why I make sure I am home.
When I was a kid we lived in a small 1950’s built rancher. Tiny. One full bath upstairs, 1/2 bath in the basement. My mom loved her hot soaking baths in the iron tub upstairs, and boy did she let ‘em rip. That iron tub resonated throughout the house especially the basement.
She let one loud boomer out while me and dad were downstairs and my dad yelled an alarm sound and shouted “DIVE!! DIVE!! DIVE!!”

Drink more water/liquids through out the day.
Your body is pulling moisture out of the traveling food mass, especially in your lower intestines/colon in order to keep your body fluids up.
You are plugged up in your colon. There is hard feces in there which acts as a cork.
A water enema will help initially.
