My wife has been on Anastrozole for 2 1/2 years. She started struggling with the side effects from Anastrozole about a year after she started taking it and has also seen significant bone loss. My question is has anyone in the forum had their doctor reduce Anastrozole from daily dosing to alternate day dosing and if so did you see a lessening of the side effects.
Most side effects are just the usual symptoms of menopause. Hot flashes, tiredness, mood swings. Her oncologist probably warned her that she'd need to take it as directed for up to 5 years. This is a treatment for breast cancer. It's not a normal hormone therapy for garden variety menopause.
