Wife bought me this to help me sleep. I work rotating shifts and have other issues that affect sleep. I have tried white noise apps on my phone but they didn’t work well for me. I work at a hospital and they use similar designed sound machines in the ER and certain other departments. Its function is very simple and the nature of the sound machine made it work much better for me. The power switch has low, off, and high settings. There are two slide dials to adjust the volume and pitch. The outer housing dome turns changing volume and pitch. The top of the dome has a separate dial to open or close a series of holes to further alter volume. Unlike the phone apps, the machine distributes the noise outward in a 360 degree direction. The phone only has the speaker in the bottom unless you use a Bluetooth speaker. The box and label says it’s made in the USA. Feels heavy duty.
