I work in an industry with a lot of meetings and people and either everyone is faking or everyone is sick -- it is insane.
But I never get sick because I take vitamin D.
Using that logic - you're assuming that 100% of all the people who get sick, don't take vitamin D. You're also assuming that 100% of all the people who take vitamin D, never get sick.

That's pretty faulty logic, there.
How cruel of you to point that out. Now that she's seen the light, she's no longer protected by the placebo effect, and will probably get sick all the time.
I'm not convinced that it is getting worse. Living as I do in a very large senior community, not one person that I know of has come down w/ it. I never get the flu shots because I never get the flu. Ever since COVID hit (I do get those shots), which was some years ago, I've only known of one person that got the flu, and that may have been misdiagnosed COVID. People eat so poorly and live such sedentary lives, I'm not surprised that a lot of folks have low immune systems that can't fight off germs.

Excellent. She will now have to blame her sickness on "listening to strangers on the internet."
All is as it should be. I've done my job well today.
GI symptoms have nothing to do with the flu, which is a RESPIRATORY virus. But try telling anyone that!
Which is one reason people went nuts for toilet paper when Covid hit. It was described as "a kind of flu" which people associated with diarrhea and other symptoms that are colloquially called "stomach flu", not the actual respiratory illness that true flu is.

Actually, TP is the first thing to get hoarded when there are rumors of shortages. I used to live on an island, and could tell there were rumors of a boat strike just by the state of the TP aisle. I usually ordered TP on Amazon, never had to worry about strikes.
One of my weather apps also report on risk levels of the flu. A couple weeks ago, it was listed as mild risk. Yesterday or the day before that when I last looked, it said moderate risk.
So-called "stomach flu" (gastrointestinal distress) is almost always food poisoning, whether mild or severe. That's more common than people realize.
There’s also food poisoning to think about. We’ve had numerous food recalls within the past several . months too.
