The flu virus isn't getting worse, people's immune systems are. Obesity and terrible diets are to blame, IMO. The cascade affect ... eat bad foods, drink soda pop, get fat, stay inside, sit a lot and then... trying to live in a sterile environment.

Why would anyone believe the flu is worse this season? Because someone somewhere ( in summertime ) said so ?

I wouldn't know. Last time I had the flu was at least 20 years ago, maybe more. Haven't had Covid either. On the other hand I am silly, I keep buying flu medicaine just in case, then have to throw it out when it expires and buy more. And for most of those 20 years or so I did not get a flu shot. Only started getting them when I got my first Covid jab. Now, older, makes more sense to me to get the jabs.

I work in an industry with a lot of meetings and people and either everyone is faking or everyone is sick -- it is insane.

But I never get sick because I take vitamin D.

I get the flu shot every year and I don’t think I’ve ever had the flu. I don’t know of anyone who has, either. I suppose those who are among the public are more susceptible.

Plus...vaccine commercials. I'm not anti-vaccine at all, but when you see a vaccine or medicine commercial every commercial break, it makes one think the situation is very dire, and if you're a certain age, you NEED that vaccine or you'll die.

The commercials put it in your face every 15 minutes.

This article (from a month ago) provides a good overview of the current seasonal virus situation:

So you don't eat fast food, or shop at Macy's, or visit Great Mountain because they advertise a lot, too?

Here are flu deaths in the USA from 2010 to 2022. No observable trend up over this time period.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/...ths-number-us/

If you look at deaths per 100,000 since 1950 you can see they have dropped dramatically since the bad old days before we had vaccines and treatments.
