The fact that they got the vaccine afterwards speaks volumes about their stupidity.
The sons were all het up with their internet-gathered hot insider info, hopped on the bandwagon like crusaders. Then they saw their previously healthy mom unconscious in the ICU with a vent down her throat on their freaking iPhones since she was in isolation. She suffered and then she died, alone. It was excruciating for them, as it would be for anyone. Nothing like a bat upside the head to help someone get over their ignorant self.
I only know one person who died of COVID, and she did have COPD. She also had the first two vaccines and then three others. For the rest of those who got it, it was basically a non issue thankfully. It was for me as well.
Most people who get covid DO NOT DIE, whether vaccinated or not. So your anecdote is deliberately misleading.
Nowadays, in 2023/2024, most people who get COVID don't get more than mild symptoms, if any - because nowadays, in 2023/2024, most people are vaccinated.
Most people who got COVID in 2019 had at /least/ mild symptoms, and many died, and many who didn't die were hospitalized because of their severe symptoms. Why'd that happen? Because there was no vaccine yet.
They died because they were on their way to death anyways. Come on.
So will you, some day. And me. Everyone who wakes up tomorrow, is one day closer to death.
In the meantime, people capable of cognizant thought and critical thinking skills will weigh the pros and cons of vaccines, have a conversation with their licensed medical professional, and do what's best for themselves, and not take the word of strangers on the internet or random op-eds on social media, or abide by Dr. Google's sage advice and wisdom.
