So very sorry to hear about your wife OP! My mother had ALS. It has to be one of the worst diagnoses out there.

Had a 6 month PFT done a couple of weeks ago. Lung capacity is down to 58% (was 66% on the first test). One of the conclusions was that I have the lungs of a 102 year old man (I'm 77)! Somehow, that struck me as funny. This was all at my PCP office. They are referring me to a different pulmonologist, since I did not care for the first one they sent me to.

It might help your Quality of Life if you got a prescription from your doctor for an Inogen Oxygen Concentrator. Often Medicare will pay for it, or if your a Veteran, you may qualify for one.

Many folks have said the Inogen really helps with their breathing, which gives them a better life & they are able to once again do activities they loved before being diagnosed with COPD, etc.
