Omeprazole should be taken short term, it can cause irregular heartbeat, make polyps in your stomach, and it's shutting the acid jets in your stomach which protects you from food poisoning and helps digest your food. Additionally, you are taking another anti-acid, famotinide, but it's safer than omeprazole.

I went to a doctor for acid reflex, he gave me omeprazole but i never took it because I knew what damage it can cause. I just watched my diet and if I got acid reflux i took Tums and over the counter famotinide if Tums didn't work and I got better.

Just a note about meloxicam, some heart patients shouldn't take it, but doctors may prescribe it to heart patients for pain anyway, just a warning, it happened to a family member. Luckily I stopped her from taking it, and her cardiologist said I did the right thing and she should never take that drug.
