This is not talked about very much. It's where you stay up later than you know you should because you just can't pull away from the laptop or phone. It ends up costing you sleep and you build up sleep deprivation, but you still keep doing it. There are videos about it on YouTube.

Thoughts?

If you want to change that, you need to change your whole evening behavior. Sit in a different place, take a shower, read a book, take a walk. Do something else that you like to do. This helps also if you are trying to break a habit of snacking before bed. You're trying to change the pattern in your brain.

I'm just thinking about the person who can't sleep and is going, "Just one more YouTube insomnia ADD video...oh, wow is that baby goat playing the piano?"

If I don't fall asleep in 10 to 15 minutes I get up and open the laptop and or turn on the TV in the kitchen. Bad, Bad girl. It may only take another 15 minutes and back to bed I go and I fall asleep. So I don't really lose much sleep but I hate rolling around until I feel like I'm sleeping on cement. It's crazy and not healthy.

For me it is "just one more chapter" of the book I am reading. I once saw a lady wearing a t shirt that said that.

Where does the "revenge" come in?

It's an inexact translation from a Chinese or Korean phrase, IIRC. The "revenge" is more like the feeling of spending your time how you want after hours of work and chores, even if it's going to make you tired later.

This is me too. I go to bed early so that I can read for a good while, but it still comes down to "one more chapter. Okay, yet another more. Okay, one more can't hurt."

Theres a whole social media/phone detox thing going on where you either deactivate your social media or limit it. I did a social media detox (Mainly Facebook) and i noticed changes pretty fast. Sleeping faster and more soundly, more focus on things the list goes on. Its a great read and youtube watch social media detox.

I do this weird thing where I'll be exhausted, barely keeping my eyes open, but don't wanna go to bed because "it's too early." Which for me is anything before like 4am lol. So instead I end up passing out on the couch, then dragging myself to bed when I wake up a couple hours later. It's very unhealthy, but I've never pretended to have good sleep habits... I look forward to retirement, when I can keep the crazy hours I prefer.
