My life is about the same now as it was prior to pandemic. I do go out, observing physical distancing and wearing a mask in stores. We have had very few documented cases around here but there have probably been far more undocumented cases.
Initially the virus was a bit scary for me. This is no longer the case. I wouldn't fear getting on an airplane or going to a restaurant at this time and look forward to these activities once again, fairly soon.
I just returned home from Costco. Tight quarters indeed. At checkout it was really bad, crammed into a lane with people stacked on top of one another, surrounded by plexi-glass. Where can I go that would be worse than that? = NOWHERE.
It's worse than standing at a packed craps table in a Vegas mega strip casino; which I would do tomorrow if I could.
I'm not afraid at all tho since I'm the healthiest dude around. The virus wouldn't stand a chance against me.

Agreed. Here Costco was leading in safety procedures before they were even required. They wipe down each cart handle, limiting amount of customers. Have you queue 6 ft apart, don't touch your cards of receipts. Trader Joe's did around the same time, with Walmart following after.

Nothing major is reopening yet, at least not here. I guess I can go to my dentist appointment, but that's about it. Life won't be much different for me.
Am I the only one who finds it incredible that there are states reopening tattoo parlors in their first wave of recovery, before lots of other businesses? That seems pretty hands-on to me.
I fully intend to stay home most of the time until probably June. My kids still are technically in school. I don't intend to go into the office until I'm forced.
While I am not paralyzed with fear, in my area more than half of coronavirus cases are people under 65, additionally young people have died. People can't wash their damn hands or cover their damn coughs. Even if I don't get put on a respirator, come down with it and you'll feel very awful and you'd have to hope and pray you don't give it to your loved ones who may be in the vulnerable population.
I live in a nice sized home with plenty of things to do, including a pool. I have a garden that has kept me active all of this time. my kids have zoom, etc. None of us are itching to leave.
Whenever I am out, everyone seemed ok with wearing masks except for seniors. They seem to struggle the most with putting them on and keeping them on their face. I often see a senior letting their noses stick out just covering the mouth. They are in the high risk group and they need to be acclimated with masks. While waiting for a parking spot. I see an old couple standing on line at costco having an argument with someone and they took their face mask off just to engage in the argument while the other person did not turn around to argue with them face to face.

Interesting. I'm seeing the opposite in my area. Old people with high-tech masks, wearing gloves, holding packages of disinfectant wipes at the ready. While many younger people don't have masks, or put them on right before entering a store and take them off immediately after leaving. (I have to admit, I take my mask off after getting back outside, too).
Many states are opening back up but a lot of health officials have indicated that it is too soon; the virus has not yet flattened, and we will likely see a rise in cases and deaths becaue states have begun aggressive reopening efforts already. For those who have states that have opened or are opening soon, what are your plans? Texas is opening many businesses next week but my wife and I are furloughed. There is no mask requirement and we believe it is too soon. We will remain at home under self quarantine until either more time has passed or we are called back to work. What do you think? If you have the option, do you believe it is safe to get back to normal?
It might not be too soon, if there were a mask requirement, and people observed some distancing wherever they went. A town in Germany recently reported, that after a requirement was instituted, to wear masks at all times outside the home, an entire week went by without any new cases.
