Any male MD that claims not to notice a good looking female patient is lying or delusional. Ask any med student what a TUBE is. He will tell you "Totally Unnecessary Breast Exam" without blinking an eye. Most doctors would answer with; "I am always a proffessional" but that ain't the question Doc!
This thread is amazingly one-sided. Of course we "notice" attractive people.
However, acting upon that recognition is mitigated by factors such as personal ethics, love of family, fear of a malpractice suit, and a host of other issues shared by many other men. Of course there are a few cheating doctors, like there are cheating lawyers, accountants, plumbers, etc.
I can tell you from experience that there are far fewer of my colleagues that stray with their patients than there are patients coming on to us. The Nurse in the examining room is to protect US!

Never thought of that. Guess they notice that big bulge in your pants....your wallet.
As a female dermatologist, I can agree that everyone notices attractive patients, but that's the extent of it. If you don't remain professional, you are not only unethical, but stupid.
Just for another funny aside, this is an actual incident in which, years ago, I managed to get into a spot of trouble:
I was teaching in a medical school, and had several students with me in the exam room. I had a male patient who needed a biopsy in the groin area, so he had to lie there--er, exposed for a few minutes.
As I prepared to give the patient his local anesthetic injection, I absent-mindedly said "Now here's a little prick..."
<Momentary desire on my part to flee as students began to be unable to hold back snickers>
And the patient saved the day with "Don't worry, doc, that's what my third wife said, too!"

Maybe medical students don't understand the rules, but you can get sued for doing a "totally unnec. breast exam." And, who would allow that if it's not pertinent to the diagnosis?? Must be alot of medical students who are immature men trying to play with the grown ups.
Geeze....I'm glad I didn't read this thread until AFTER I turned 50 and no longer care! I guess it is fair enough to assume just because a man becomes a doctor doesn't mean he went blind.

Or gay. Just for the sake of accuracy. Amazing how gay people are invisible to heterosexuals until it's time to oppress us. Then it's all hands on deck to wipe out a menace to society.

So you have to polticize a thread that is about Doctors/Patients?
Eat the Rich, Socialism now? Are you just jealous of other's success?

Another female physician here: Agree completely with Mozart. We notice and move on. We've seen it before, we'll see it again. And we've seen EVERYTHING. Really.
Interesting response but "noticeing" is the issue here.
I don't think the original question had anything to do with cheating or straying. You are leaping to a conclusion and answering a question that wasn't asked. If you are an MD, I would sincerely like to know your response to the original thread.
