I have never smoked regularly - socially from time to time but did enjoy the effects of nicotine for appetite suppression, mood, stress relief enjoyable but found the smell, and the general hassle factor, social pressure not to smoke, and worries about the health consequences have stopped me from being a regular smoker but still wanted to smoke.

Used nicotine gum for a while- but now have got into Electronic Cigarettes and I like them, and use them everyday, perhaps they are more habit forming that real cigarettes because there less hassle and don't make you smell.

Are the ok healthwise, I think there about 95 per cent safer than real cigarettes - and is there anything inherently wrong with a non smoker using e cigarettes, should they only be used by smokers to quit.

If the harm can be reduced to very low levels, whats wrong with people using nicotine just like caffeine

I don't think there is anything wrong with a non smoker using them, assuming their relatively safe, although they would be addictive -

and there probably much better than real cigarettes for smokers, without the smell and hassle.

Yes, they are better than real cigarettes. I am a former smoker living with a smoker. Cigarettes smell horrid and are a huge waste of time and said smoker is so frustrated when his lighter won't work or if they burn out, nevermind if he burns something too!

I've used the e-cig for almost 2 years now. I haven't decided if I want to give them up but if I do I'll step down off the nicotine first. I'm at 16mg now but started at 24mg. I get my juice here USA Made Vapor Renu : E Cig Liquid Nicotine : E Cigarette Refills for about $8 per 30ml. If you aren't refilling carts you are frustrating yourself more than you need to.

Non smokers using cigarettes, seems like a contradiction in terms to me.

While it may if you are not familiar...e-cigs are not really cigarettes! Anyone using an e-cig is not a smoker and some doctors (my doctor) will back that up.

Maybe slightly better as far as we know. People are not supposed to inhale anything but air actually. As an American spirit cig smoker myself this is a hypocritical statement I know.

I'm using an eGo-W tank and vaping organic vegetable glycerine juice from a place called Dripeez, in Texas. Have had phone conversations with the owner, the woman who does her own extracting of a lot of the ingredients she uses for flavoring. I've gone from 15mg/ml to 8 mg/ml in 7 months (medium-light to light, roughly), and will probably continue vaping my mocha flavored liquid after I've tapered off the nicotine altogether, because it tastes great!

Won't touch cheap Chinese-made juice ever -- they all taste like kerosene to me. Also, I've heard that propylene glycol can be an allergen to some people so I stick to 100% vegetable glycerine. Dripeez allows you to customize everything about your juice. Totally satisfied with their product and service.

Default E-Cigarettes: Better? Bad? Fad?

Okay, first and foremost I am not an avid smoker. Actually, I hardly smoke. Once in a blue I'll have some merlot and a Cuban cigar or I'll buy a pack of Djarum Blacks. I'll buy a pack a cigarettes once in a blue and it'll last me a long time. LONG time. When I saw long, I am talking about forgetting I have cigs sometimes. I can make a pack last at least 2-3 months. I have finished a pack in 3 weeks but that's probably the fastest I've smoke a pack.

I do enjoy smoking mostly when I am writing, since it just sort of calms my nerves for whatever reason. Socially, it helps me once in a while as well. Other than I am not a smoker but recently I am getting tired of the smell of cigarettes and I hate the taste it leaves in my mouth afterwards. It certainly doesn't help with the ladies. And of course, we all know, its absolutely no good for your health and I'm quite fanatical about my health.

Besides simply dropping the cigs, I was thinking of doing something lesser in E-cigarettes (E-cigs for short). I tried it a few times (puffs) and enjoyed the taste and sensation but I had my own pack or know anyone who can really give me concrete thoughts on them.

Since I'm not addicted to regular cigs, and can do perfectly fine without them, I'm thinking E-cigs can do the job for me. Doesn't leave a nasty smell, its not exactly healthy but I am assuming its a better alternative than regular cigs (unless some research study claims otherwise) and its vapor, so it won't stain or make my teeth yellow.

Anyone can give me any insight? Info? Thoughts? Opinions? Thanks.

I like e-cigs for several reasons. They don't smell. You can smoke as little or as much as you want*. You can smoke in some places where otherwise not - ie, on motorcycle (I'm passenger ), in restroom (if at work and it's raining outside, or no time for break), at people's house where you don't want to smoke, or can't, etc. (*With the cost of cigs today, well, I should say cig TAXES, I don't want to 'waste' them, so I usually smoke the WHOLE thing as a result.) E-cigs are a great invention and I hope they improve a bit (shapes and styles available, etc, I could do without the end lighting up, maybe a tiny LED light to indicate activity would do). I'm sure they will. I like them a lot!
