I'm watching the news conference right now. Gonna be kind of hard to enforce the 14 day quarantine. Also, why are they waiting until March 26th for it to be in effect? Maybe a legal matter? I still think the state needs to go on lockdown like some other states. On the news I still see people at parks and beaches. Maybe close hotels like Vegas to make it even harder for visitors to stay here.

All arrivals must quarantine 14 days beginning Mar 26.

Expect no commercial flying after that date. If you are a Hawaii resident - get home now.

Seems like they're reluctant to take that step. Instead they're doing this step first and hoping the cases level off. If it doesn't, they'll do the lockdown.

Mar 26 might be a legal matter - might be a small window to let people get home.

The hotels will close on their own - as their will be no occupancy.

Be careful what you wish for - many people wanted a visitor free Hawaii. You are about to get it.

We have substandard medical care on most islands and will be quickly overwhelmed if the virus gains a strong foothold here.

The Federal Government has not ended domestic flights yet but the longer they dither, the more will become ill and/or die. The Lt. Governor has threatened to put new arrivals in 14-day quarantine but every day, more tourists arrive.

Come visit later when this is over! Do you really want to be here when the bars, restaurants, swimming pools, tours and even beaches are closed?
Why do you need the federal government to turn off flights? Can't your governor do it? You need to be pushing this to local lawmakers.

Our governor just announced that anyone arriving after March 26 will go into 14-day quarantine. (News broadcast is going on now.) The window is to allow people to come home or leave.

And no, the Governor can't "turn off flights" but this announcement should effectively be the end of them.
