I have had doctors and pharmacists tell me that people want prescriptions when they have an office appointment or they feel like they didn’t get their moneys worth. Both have also said that lifestyle changes like diet and exercise are much more important to a healthy life than taking meds.
Decades ago, I asked my doctor friend for a script for that new anti acid that would let you eat hot tamales at 9:30 and go to bed at 10 without getting heartburn. He said, you will live a lot longer and be a lot healthier if you don’t take the medication and don’t eat hot tamales at 9:30. I was young and dumb, but I did get the message and I did adhere to it. I presently take no daily meds.
Oh dear. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's hard to lose someone that was so special to you. I really hope that you will find a way to get to her funeral. I think you will.
It's hard to go through what feels like a dark time.

To the op and all here who are similarly situated, I hope you can find some peace on this thanksgiving day. My prayer is for relief from your pain and grief on this special day of thanksgiving. I am thankful for so many, many things, including the special people who share and care on this thread.
