But it just makes a lot of sense that that's what it is. It looks pretty cool. In fact, a D&B I used to go to (Columbia, MD) when I was younger has since been rebranded as a Main Event.

Just for grins, I looked at the restaurants near a similar complex in Cincinnati. PF Changs stood out as one missing in Greensboro. Also Red Robin (we have one in Greensboro but not near this area), Twin Peaks, and Smokey Bones as well as an Indian restaurant. PF Chang's looks like a very logical addition. From there, I'm hoping for something better than Red Robin but that would make some sense. A BJ's Brewhouse makes sense to me as well though I continue to hope for YardHouse to enter the Greensboro market.
There is a PF Changs here in Greensboro. Its in the same parking lot as Flemings. It was the first one in the Triad..at least 10 years before the one in Winston

Time will tell if both Main Event and Round One can coexist. I do think Round One would suffer for a few reasons. One is the recent crime at the mall and in particularly inside Round One where an incident happened. Also Main Event is the larger and the better between the two. The two facilities would be less than 2 or 3 miles apart as well. But what is interesting is that there is another nearby bowling alley called Spare Time which is literally across I-40 from the TopGolf site near Guilford College Rd. Very unusual to have two bowling alleys that close together plus Round One 2 or 3 miles to the east.

Didn't realize... I actually knew there was one in Winston-Salem and Googled "PF Changs Greensboro" and it sent me to Winston-Salem so I assumed that meant no.

So yeah, probably PF Chang's. I wonder if something like a Genghis Grill could go there (though I'd prefer a "real" Mongolian BBQ place instead).

I foresee Round one closing... And when it does , that's gonna be another nail on the coffin for the mall.. at this point, the mall needs to do like Hanes Mall is doing and turn into more of a workplace destination... Maybe get a call center there or medical places... More of those work type places would probably help cut down on crime for the mall too.. Hopefully the can keep a few of the remaining actual Chain Stores they have . And do away with the "one off no brand stores" .

Actually I think a better idea for Four Seasons would be to follow the model of Hampton, VA with the old Coliseum Mall. What they did was essentially tear down most of the mall and build a walkable mixed used destination called Peninsula Town Center. The retail element doesnt completely disappear with the mall but theres also flexibility for more apartments/condos as well as restaurants, etc.

Integrate it with the convention center and hotels and you already have a good starting point.

If Main Event opens at TopGolf, I agree I don't see Round One lasting.

Some malls have gone as far to add amusement rides such as coasters or indoor waterparks.

Four Seasons be a great entertainment district for the city. Hotels near by. The Convention Center. Probably take lot of funds to tear down and rebuild the area. Have lots of investors for apartments.

Always feel malls should go the way of turning into some type of residential area, higher education center, or open concept shopping area.

Could have an outdoor concert area, bars, restaurants, slot machines, asethics like a river/fancy street lamps, and so forth.

The other way is turning it into a more family/tourist shipping destination area.

With what appears to be the legalization of casino gambling in North Carolina, Four Seasons is probably the best site due to the large, 1,000 room hotel/convention center and mall. A casino could be built onto the Sheraton Four Seasons.

I also agree that Gate City Blvd between the coliseum and the mall needs an overhaul. I know they improved the streetscape but it still looks like a typical thoroughfare strip of retail and fast food restaurants. But that kind if overhaul will take many years.

That aera in general needs to start with safety first... As of now.. how many would want to walk around outside that area... That aera is noo Friendly center and not even close to being it... it's gonna take a major face lift and more then st scaping and changes the road names to make it into something decent. I agree it will take many years but now is just as good as a time to start as any... But I feel safety is the biggest thing that would push this revamp to happen! Make it to where u feel like you'd want to be on that side of town when the sun goes down!
