I'll give you a preview:

Microwave food offerings
Decent drinks
Ripoff bay rental from the $5 membership/email/info farming, then bay rental designed to keep you there as long as possible.
Slow ball return, replay EVERY shot on TV so you can re-watch your bad shots.

Then when the bill comes, the tip is recommended on the food/beverages AND the bay rental.

That said, Top Golf usually picks one spot per medium sized metro. Even Hampton Roads which is larger than the Triad and split into 7 cities only has one (on the Western end of VA Beach, close to the line with Norfolk).

There are exceptions. Charlotte has two in one city. But Charlotte is an anomaly. Its just such a hot growing market. I just don't see the Triad ever having two unless Top Golf becomes commonplace in just about every city and that's not likely to happen.

Top Golfs are regional destinations so they can draw people from as many as a hundred miles. Triad residents have driven 89 miles to Charlotte just to visit Top Golf.

Charlotte also isn't really a medium sized metro.

Technically you could say the Triangle has two. Maybe not under the same name. Raleigh has a Drive Shack and now TopGolf. Its metro is comparable to the Triad at least in population but there is a big difference in demographics there. Demographics is a major key factor in having multiple venues such as this. Its about $60 to $70 per hour to play at these venues and that doesn't include the price of food and alcohol which is probably not cheap either and imagine a whole family. So we are not talking about playing a round or two at Putt Putt lol. One is all you'll ever see in the Triad. We did good to get just one lol. This has to be a regional attraction here.

lol

Top Golf is like a Putt Putt that serves beer. The "carwash" on College Road is much more exciting !

Haven't seen anything in the news media in a while but I did notice they are clearing the site where Top Golf is going.

Here is a layout of the Top Golf on the site which includes other parcels for a multi-use development. Looks like its going to include a hotel.

Building permits were filed yesterday for construction of Topgolf-Greensboro. The permit lists this Topgolf as a two story 49,676 square foot complex. Also site plans were approved in December for a Main Event Entertainment next to the Top Golf. Main Event Entertainment centers are owned by Dave and Busters. So it could be either a Dave and Busters which is geared more towards adults or a Main Event Entertainment which is more family friendly.
