Another 10 story apartment/mixed use building. This one is exciting given the location at Wealthy and Division on the site of the current Spectrum Industries building. That would bring quite a bit more life to that intersection and the market area.

Developer still working on plans for the Sligh block. This is a GIANT old factory on the sw edge of down town. It would be HUGE for that area's momentum/redevelopment if they are able to coordinate it.

Though with recent other/smaller projects being iced I have my doubts this one will go through. 750 apartment units is no joke. Especially in a neighborhood on the verge of taking off. This is very near that Strip of old turn of the century factory's along Godfrey Ave that are just ripe for being developed into one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city.

Thank you for this thread. I have to admit when Acrisure bought the naming rights for Heinz Field (Steelers) we Pittsburghers were befuddled/bewildered. With that being said it was a good publicity stunt because I then went online to research Acrisure and learn more about both the company itself and Grand Rapids.

Keep up the good work with this thread!

This would be pretty big for the east end of Heartside. St. Mary's basically owns an entire neighborhood of parking lots between Division and Jefferson. This would be a GREAT use for them. There are doubts about feasibility, and if St. Mary's can raise the near $200million price tag.

Is this the same enormous building that houses Century Antiques and two other antique shops?

No. I think you are thinking of the old Sligh Furniture Factory over on Century just west of 131.

This would be new construction just to the west of St. Mary's Hospital. I don't think this is a serious proposal that's likely to happen soon.

Another apartment project proposed on another parking lot in the densifying neighborhoods south of downtown.

Sligh project scaled back. The site was designated historic so they can't tear down the ugly concrete addition and build a parking garage. I have my doubts as to whether this one gets to construction or not.

Pinnacle Construction renovating a building on Front St. along the river. This area is on the opposite side of the river from the North Monroe neighborhood. It seems to be getting a lot of investment attention lately. It would be awesome to see more momentum in that area which is largely industrial, and a bit of a dead zone outside of the fish ladder.

Another housing development near Division and Wealthy. If these go through that will be quite a bit of activity for an intersection that had seen the worst of times for a few decades.
