Ok, there is such a thing as topics being worn to the ground and "over cooked" to the point that some folks avoid a room because of it.
Imagine getting an email from someone from a foreign country who has a legit question about the U.S., and when I tell them to post it in the General U.S. room, those people thought the room was just for architectural and racial type discussions only.
In other words, there are certain topics that are becoming a broken record in here, and unless folks can consolidate them better rather than create whole new threads about the same old things, some of them are going to start to be closed or deleted. We don't need "What areas are the most racist" every week. These are being duplicated, overdone, and multiplied out of control, and from comments received, it's apparently hampering others from posting legitimate U.S. questions in here.
So, the moderators of this room - myself, Synopsis, and Bowie, are in agreement that there needs to be less duplication of topics, to make room for legitimate
questions visitors to the site have about the U.S. Maybe we can talk to the higher-ups about a room devoted JUST to skylines and artchitecture and smackdowns - we'll work on that. But in the mean time, please do not make any more skyline threads.
Also, there is now a sub-forum devoted to City X vs. City Y threads. Please post all such comparison threads in
http://www.city-data.com/forum/city-vs-city/ instead of in the main General US forum!
