Sight - Craggy peaks with traces of snow, glistening blue lakes, streams meandering through green meadows filled with wildflowers, alpenglow, the stars on a moonless cloudless night, waterfalls, wildlife.
Sound - The sound of the breeze in conifer forest. Rivers. Birds. Wolves at night.
Smell - Wildflowers, conifer forest, the mountain air.
Taste - Freshly caught trout cooked over a campfire or backpacking stove. The flavor of water from a cold mountain stream.
Touch - The heat of the afternoon sun on your skin at elevation. The brisk morning air on a frosty summer morning.
More than the other Chinatowns I've been to (Oakland, Seattle, LA, Chicago, DC) that one is really an intensive sensory experience. I was almost sad when I moved to SF because I knew I wasn't going to be there long enough to scratch the surface of all the food, tea houses, historical sites, old legends, etc. that Chinatown had to offer.

Sight - Rocky coast, colorful lobster boats in the harbors, small villages with old New England architecture, mountains against deep blue seas
Sound - waves lapping - especially over the stones on Jasper Beach, gulls squawking, small town parades and outdoor concerts
Smell - Depending on the season - seafood cooking at the outdoor stands, wood smoke from outdoor fires or indoor fireplaces, the sea - that salt-water smell, the mud smell from the mud flats, balsam and greens from the wreath companies, marijuana - since it's legal here
Taste - Fresh seafood - lobster, scallops, clams, crabmeat, haddock, Fiddlehead ferns, Maine-grown potatoes, and wild blueberries and the desserts made with them.
Sight - Pristine mountains and deserts. The Rio Grande Gorge. Traditional architecture and colors. Unparalleled night sky. Twenty-plus Indian nations. History going back 1000 years in some communities. Matachines dancers. Small town fiestas. Tribal dances. A tumbleweed stampede on a windy day. Desert sunsets. Watching a storm cross the desert 50 miles away.
Sound - New Mexico's music. The sound of multiple heritage languages spoken in the modern setting. The wind in the forest. The Coyotes singing at night. The experience of a monsoon thunderstorm.
Smell - Pinyon smoke from fireplaces in the fall and winter. The aroma of roasting chiles in late summer. A pot of Pozole on the stove. The smell of lavender, sage, juniper and pine forests.
Taste - New Mexico's food: Pozole, Tamales, stacked enchiladas, red or green chile, calabacitas, anise biscochitos. Local brews and wines. Roasted Pinyon nuts.
Touch - Nice single digit humidity on a hot day. The feel of a locally woven textiles or rugs. Fresh wind on a bright spring day.
The sight of the Falls, rapids, gorges, tunnels, caves, boats, crowds, etc; the rumble felt in the ground and air; the spray mist feel and ozone smell; the concentrated tackiness of Clifton Hill on the Canadian side and the naturalness of Goat Island on the US side; the sight and sounds of many cultures and languages, everything between groups of Amish to Buddhist monks; the smells and tastes of the Indian and other street food vendors, etc.
Ignore the Mainstream Media Hysteria about homeless people there.
Washington State is gloriously beautiful, and very fertile.
So much visual history there too (Seattle specifically.)
