Be fair. As already stated, the OP did not mention any cost-of-living concerns. And San Diego absolutely fits all the requirements that were listed.

Here's a website that will help you find military bases for each state:

Hawaii has military bases on more than one island. Definitely warm year-round in comparison to the mainland. You could also do the Mississippi coast and have Keesler AFB, Pascagoula and Gulfport Naval Stations to pick from. I've been to the area several times for training. It's not my favorite coastline, but you may find it your perfect home. Housing prices are certainly on the low end for coastal housing. You've also got several choices down the road in the Florida Panhandle and Tampa Bay areas. Still, I'd pick the Williamsburg/Yorktown Virginia area over the gulf coast.

It's larger in population than either St Simon's or Amelia Island with about 19K residents and neighboring Kingsland doubles that. St Mary's is also a good bit less touristy and has a very sizable active/retired military population due to the King's Bay Naval Submarine Base. It's also very friendly, easy access to beautiful beaches and a cost of living below the national average.

Wilmington, NC? It's close to Camp Lejeune. The camp isn't in the city but it's only 25 miles away.

Default Help choosing next location!

Hey there- really appreciate any input: I've narrowed down relocation choices to the following: Hampton Roads, VA, Tampa, FL; Jacksonville, FL (Neptune Beach/Beaches area), or the Panhandle (Pensacola/FWB). Looking for friendly people, safe place to raise kids. TY!

Any other criteria you’d like to mention? Budget? Recreation?

These are all within budget, so really wanting a coastal area, friendly, safe for children.

Neptune Beach in my opinion is the best option.
