Hi everybody. My sister has booked tickets to a concert C2G Music Hall on W. baker St. We plan to walk to and from this venue from our hotel at Grand Wayne, approx 10min walk. What is this area like and especially after dark. Thanks.

Maybe ask reddit if 5 hours too long to wait? A quick scan of this forum would tell you it is not particularly active.

Nothing wrong with that area. I'm guessing you're probably staying at the Hilton or the Courtyard? The Courtyard is closest and the only thing between it and the place you're talking about are a couple government buildings and a parking lot. The Hilton is a bit further away. And probably the best route there is similar to getting to the Courtyard, going up Harrison to Jefferson and doing the jog over. You could go over to Calhoun but there at least used to be (not sure if it's still there now) a strip club at the corner with Baker St in case that's something that would make you nervous.

Not sure the time of year or time of night. There could be a baseball game which could mean a lot of other people walking around that area. Or it could be pretty deserted. But overall, it's not a dangerous area by any means.

Thanks! That helps. It'll be in May and I'm figuring on 7pm to 11pm time frame, based on what info she gave me, which was a bit sparse. Appreciate your response.

You’ll be good to go. That is one of the safest places in town and you’ll be around people parking for the show your whole walk.

I lived in Fort Wayne for 33 years and I have experienced every sector of the city. I never once have been accosted or threatened. Downtown Fort Wayne is very safe. Dont worry about crime.
