Hello,
I will be relocating to the flagstaff area in about a year and a half. I am having a hard time finding the type of rental property I am interested in. I am looking for a mobile home or manufactured home that is either in or outside of Flagstaff but still nearby. Something in a rural area with some land and not really any neighbors too close. Are there any areas specific areas that anyone knows of where I should be looking? Thank you

You can try looking at places along Lake Mary Road which runs south of Flagstaff or Munds Park. Quick trip into town either way. And I think if you go to East Flagstaff you might have good luck. Best bet would probably by to contact a realtor in the area.

The Doney Park area east of town. There's usually some of those listed in craigslist or the az daily sun. most are on 2.5 acres

Yes, I think Doney Park is probably your best bet.

If you want central flagstaff, then Mountainaire, Kachina Village, or Munds Park would be your best bet.

Depending on your tastes... I now live in Colorado, but previously lived both in the Kachina Village/Mountainaire area and the doney park area. Doney park is very windy... did I say very? I used to think my chickens were gonna blow away. The perk? The Skys!!! Nowhere in my whole life have I seen skys so pretty (and I've been to 45 of the states). Kachina Village and Mountainaire have more trees so there's less wind but you miss the skys. It's also cooler in the summer and snows more in the winter in Mountainaire/Kachina Village. The mountainaire tavern is a great little bar, with good pizza and a real community feel. There is less to do in Doney park socially but if I had to choose between the two, I'd choose Doney Park.

There are areas out 180 such as Mountain View and then out towards the Snowbowl area.
The 17 gets closed at times in the winter and access back to Kachina area is restrcted or you might not make it into Flagstaff.
The 180 has the same problems though. My supervisor lives out Doney park way and has problems with drifting snow due to the wind. A couple of times he had to chain up all 4 tires on his truck and still barley made the trek to work.

Just curious; Why Williams AZ ever mentioned much? What type of "Little town" is that one?
(I've been researching Flagstaff/Seligman area for a couple of years now, that I'm close to retirement) * What about Seligman ? Thank you for your replies!

Williams is....

An interesting place. There isn't much going for it other than the Grand Canyon Railroad.
