I think it's supposed to echo the NATO logo, but imo it's a monstrosity (search Google Images). What's it supposed to symbolize, besides mimicking the NATO logo which itself looks cool enough?

NOTE: I'm talking about the NATO statue, not anything political.

Looks like it was designed by an architect, and the basic idea is two intersecting circles representing the old and new continents.

More decorative than artistic, AFAICT.

Well, I first asked this question on P&OC (I rarely visit Entertainment and Arts) because NATO is in the spotlight due to the summit, and Igbinnie wasted no time yanking the thread. Thank God C-D has a Fine Arts board - I figured it might be a better fit. Thanks for the link.
