I was captivated by Winslow Homer's Dressing For The Carnival since I first laid eyes on it. It evokes such a strong sense of place and atmosphere. I've never coveted a painting like I do this one!

I just read up on it and learned the woman is sewing on strips of cloth. I always wondered about that.
